The National Police Service has reported a traffic snarl-up affecting parts of Mombasa City. The advisory comes as motorists experience delays on key routes into and out of the city.

"The National Police Service wishes to notify the public about a heavy traffic snarl-up in Mombasa, especially along Saba Saba, Buxton, and Nyali Bridge."

The service said the congestion has been triggered by the ongoing construction of pillars between Nyali Bridge and Kengeleni, a project expected to take several weeks.

Week-long works are expected to continue affecting movement in the area.

Motorists are expected to cooperate with the advisories for smoother flow.

"There is a diversion along the Kisauni–Malindi–Mombasa Road, and motorists are currently being diverted towards Mishomoroni, exiting at the Kisauni junction."

This diversion is intended to reduce congestion along the main corridor.

"The NPS reaffirms its steadfast commitment to maintaining law and order on our roads."

Authorities say operations will continue until normal traffic flow is restored across the affected routes in Mombasa City. Motorists are being advised to plan their journeys in advance to avoid unnecessary delays. Situation remains dynamic.
