President William Ruto on Thursday addressed Nairobi residents after delivering a speech to the Nairobi City County Assembly, marking the first time a sitting Head of State has spoken inside the chamber.

In his remarks, the President underscored the importance of collaboration between the national government and devolved units, saying Nairobi’s success is central to the country’s economic growth.

He highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, housing programmes and efforts to improve service delivery within the capital, noting that reforms are aimed at easing the cost of living and restoring order in the city.

Ruto also called on leaders to put aside political differences and focus on delivering tangible results for residents, stressing accountability and efficient use of public resources.

After the session, the President stepped out to greet wananchi, drawing crowds as he reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming Nairobi into a modern, well-managed city.
