Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has sparked online reactions after sharing screenshots of WhatsApp messages from a man who persistently asked her to marry him, exposing the unusual conversation to the public.

According to screenshots shared on her social media pages, the man repeatedly introduced himself as a romantic individual and requested a chance to start a relationship that could eventually lead to marriage. He continued sending messages despite receiving no response, urging the politician to talk to him and consider his proposal.

“Hello, mheshimiwa, talk to me, please.” “I am a very romantic guy; kindly give me a chance… leading to marriage.”

The situation took a dramatic turn when the man appeared frustrated by the lack of response and introduced politics into the conversation. In one of the messages, he claimed he was a Nairobi voter and threatened to withhold his vote in the 2027 General Election if Omanga ignored him.

“I have a voter card here in Nairobi, but I will not vote for you.”

Omanga responded by blocking the number and questioning the attempt to use political support as leverage in personal matters. She expressed disbelief at the approach and urged people to avoid blackmail or pressure in private communication.

“Even if you are going to give me your vote… all this blackmail? Guys, don’t be like that.”
