Several feared trapped as building collapses in Kibera’s Highrise

An emergency response is underway following the collapse of a building in the Highrise area of Kibera.

According to the Kenya Red Cross, rescue teams have been deployed to the scene and are currently conducting search and rescue operations amid fears that several people may be trapped beneath the rubble.

Authorities say the number of those trapped remains unconfirmed as efforts continue to access the debris and locate survivors.

The situation remains fluid, with emergency responders racing against time to determine the extent of the damage and rescue anyone still buried under the collapsed structure.
