KCA University has taken a cheeky swipe at Manchester United fans, jokingly advising students to stop supporting the English club and ditch its jerseys to protect their mental health after a string of disappointing results.

A mock internal memo circulating online urges students to reconsider their allegiance to the Old Trafford side, warning that supporting the club could add unnecessary emotional strain to the pressures of university life.

“This light-hearted advisory aims to protect students from unnecessary emotional damage, weekend disappointments and Monday-morning heartbreaks,” the memo read.

In the document identifies its sender as the “Office of the University (Unofficial), it reminded students that they already have enough to worry about, including Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), assignments, graduation clearance and academic deadlines.

“Adding Manchester United to the list is highly discouraged!” it added.

Instead, the memo encourages students to support KCA University teams, cheekily claiming they perform better than Manchester United.

“Your mental health, peace of mind and academic success matter. Choose joy. Choose KCAU. Choose what works!” the notice stated.

The mock advisory has tapped into the familiar football banter surrounding Manchester United, whose recent performances have given rival supporters plenty of material to tease their fans.

Recently, Manchester United has continued to struggle for consistent results across domestic and European competitions, with recent defeats and draws adding to pressure on the team.

On October 21, United lost 4-1 away to Italian side Como in the Champions League, days after a 2-0 defeat by Atletico Madrid on October 13.

The club had also drawn 1-1 with Leeds United on October 18 and Tottenham Hotspur on October 10, dropping points in both Premier League fixtures.

United’s September results included a 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup and a 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League.

The team also drew 1-1 with Fulham on September 20, following a 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town on August 30.

The mixed results have featured in online discussions among football supporters, with fans debating the team's performances and sharing reactions after matches.

KCA also encourages students to support university teams, with the memo stating that their mental health, peace of mind and academic success matter.

The memo also carries a message welcoming prospective students to KCA University, noting that applications for the January 2027 intake are ongoing.
