Kindiki Hosts Maara Leaders Irundini

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday hosted grassroots leaders from Maara Constituency in Irunduni, Tharaka Nithi County, outlining progress on key infrastructure and development projects in the area.

The meeting, held at the tail end of the Easter celebrations, brought together local professionals and leaders led by area MP Kareke Mbiuki.

Kindiki said the government has unlocked stalled road construction projects in Maara after settling pending contractor debts, with plans for additional roads already in the pipeline.

He noted that the Chogoria ESP market is nearing completion, while construction of student hostels at Muraga Technical Training Institute is ongoing.

Rural electrification in the constituency currently stands at 70 per cent, alongside several water projects under implementation.

The Deputy President also announced that construction of the Sh7 billion Nithi Bridge an 880-metre suspended structure with two kilometres of low-gradient approach roads linking Marima and Mitheru trading centres will begin once wayleave acquisition is finalised.

During the meeting, leaders agreed to align ongoing and planned development projects with community priorities and institute regular progress reviews to address bottlenecks in implementation.
