Two men died after an electrocution incident in Kamagambo, Rongo, Migori County, police said.

The incident, which occurred in Marera village, was discovered on April 2 after it had already happened.

Police officers, accompanied by officials from Kenya Power and Lighting, visited the scene and found the two bodies lying with no visible injuries near overhead transmission wires measuring about 10 metres.

It was established that the two had been seen the previous evening attempting to illegally connect electricity to homes. The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending identification and an autopsy. Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body on the banks of River Nzoia in Ugenya, Siaya County. Police said it is not clear how she died, adding that she is believed to have been washed to the scene. The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and an autopsy.

In a separate incident, a mason died after choking on food at a kiosk in Kipkaren, Nandi County. The deceased, identified as Shadrack Cheruiyot, 40, had gone to the kiosk for a meal on Thursday afternoon when he suddenly developed breathing difficulties and collapsed.

Police said he died outside the kiosk as locals debated how to assist him. He had been working at a nearby construction site and had taken a lunch break when the incident occurred. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Makueni County, a 41-year-old man died following an alleged assault at Ikalyoni Market in Kilungu Sub-County on April 3, 2026. The deceased, identified as Sila Mboi Mwau, was reportedly attacked by a man known to him.

Police visited the scene along the Ikalyoni–Nunguni road and found the victim unconscious with visible facial injuries and bleeding from the nose. Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect assaulted him using blows before fleeing.

The injured man was taken to Kilungu Sub-County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The motive remains unclear, and police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who is still at large. The body was moved to the hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
