Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday joined opposition leaders and mourners at Njega Primary School in Kirinyaga County for the burial of former Senator Daniel Karaba.
Uhuru was received by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua before joining other leaders for the ceremony.
Among those present were Kalonzo Musyoka of the Wiper Patriotic Front, Martha Karua of the People’s Liberation Party, and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa.
The funeral marked a rare public interaction between Uhuru and Gachagua, who were seen sharing light moments during the service despite the political divisions that followed the 2022 General Election, which ushered in President William Ruto’s administration.
