A new chapter is unfolding in Kenya’s creative industry with the emergence of Cape Studios, a dynamic production hub under Cape Media Ltd dedicated to empowering storytellers and nurturing the next generation of creative talent.
The initiative reflects a growing commitment to strengthening Kenya’s creative ecosystem by creating opportunities for young creatives to develop and share authentic African stories across television, digital platforms, and emerging media spaces.
The vision for Cape Studios was shaped through the continued engagement of the directors and shareholders of Cape Media Ltd with young creatives and emerging storytellers. These interactions revealed a clear opportunity while many young people possess powerful ideas and remarkable creative energy; they often lack access to the platforms and opportunities needed to bring their stories to life.
Cape Studios was therefore initiated by the directors and shareholders of Cape Media Ltd as part of a broader vision to create a platform that nurtures creative talent and supports the development of original African storytelling.
“We are cognizant that young people across our country carry powerful and beautiful stories. For a long time, many of these creatives have not had the opportunity to fully express their talent and creative prowess. The challenge has never been a lack of stories, the stories are everywhere. The real challenge has been the lack of platforms and opportunities for these voices to be heard. Cape Studios seeks to change that by creating a space where young creatives can develop, collaborate and bring their ideas to life,” the leadership noted.

As a creative production hub, Cape Studios offers end-to-end media storytelling solution from concept development and production to post-production and content delivery. The studio focuses on producing television commercials, original TV show formats (both scripted and non-scripted), drama series, talk shows, music programming and other innovative content designed for modern audiences across broadcast and digital platforms.
Cape Studios brings together an experienced mentorship and leadership team to guide its creative and technical direction. The team includes June Ndinya and David Mbatia as creative lead, Enos Olik and Dru Mungai as technical directors, Winnie Adisa as senior producer and Nancy Aluoch as production designer , Walter Odhiambo, Patrick Muhia & Tobias Njoga for lighting & grips . Their combined expertise will help support emerging creatives in developing high quality productions and innovative content.
Cape Studios is affiliated with TV47, Radio47, and Digital47, providing creators with strong broadcast and digital platforms through which their stories and productions can reach diverse audiences across television, radio, and online spaces.
Through this affiliation, Cape Studios will serve as a key creative hub within the Cape Media ecosystem, supporting the development of original content and innovative storytelling across television, radio, and digital platforms while strengthening opportunities for emerging creative talent.
Built on the belief that Africa is not short of stories, Cape Studios aims to bridge the gap between creative ideas and the platforms needed to bring those stories to life. By combining industry expertise with emerging talent, the studio seeks to create a collaborative environment where creativity thrives and bold storytelling is encouraged.
As the creative economy continues to grow, Cape Studios positions itself as a platform where mentorship, innovation, and storytelling converge, opening new doors for creatives and partners seeking to shape the future of African content.
Cape Studios also welcomes collaboration with industry partners, content creators, brands, and organisations interested in supporting the growth of Africa’s creative economy. Through strategic partnerships and mentorship, the studio aims to create a vibrant ecosystem where emerging talent can access the resources and platforms needed to share their work with wider audiences.
