Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson narrowly avoided arrest at City Hall on Monday, the police has said.

The law enforcement action follows a directive from the Senate Public Accounts Committee, which requested the governor’s appearance over audit queries raised against his administration.

Nairobi County Police Commander Issa Mohamud confirmed that officers were at City Hall to ensure compliance with the Senate directive.

“We are currently looking for the governor to facilitate his appearance before the committee,” Mohamud said.
