The ODM Special National Delegates Convention (NDC) is taking place at the Jamhuri Grounds in Kibra, Nairobi county.

The convention, led by party leader Oburu Odinga, is designed to address party leadership changes, fill vacant positions and set the strategy for the 2027 General Elections.

The Linda Mwananchi faction, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, planned a parallel 'People's NDC' at Ufungamano House along Mamlaka Road in Nairobi, on the same day.

The Linda Mwananchi group, comprising Siaya Governor James Orengo, Vihiga Senator Geoffrey Osotsi and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, were however, blocked by police from accessing the venue.

Sifuna was kicked out by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and replaced with Catherine Omanyo in an acting capacity pending ratification at the NDC.

On March 26, 2026, the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) asked Sifuna to exhaust the party's internal dispute resolution mechanisms (IDRM) before moving to court to challenge his ouster as ODM secretary general.
