A female law student at the Moi University in Eldoret was found dead after a suspected suicide mission.
Reginah Wanjiku, 20, was a second-year law student.
Her body was found on Wednesday March 25 hanging on the door grill of her rented house in Annex Shopping centre, Sugunanga area, police said.
Her mother had called her in vain, forcing her to call her friends asking them to check on her.
Police said the deceased used a leso to hang herself and that she left a suicide note that said she loved all and she was sorry for her decision.
The motive of the incident was not established as police moved the body to the mortuary for postmortem.

The incident was among six incidents of suicide reported on Wednesday alone, police said.
Another incident was reported in Emurua Dikirr area, Bomet county where a 24-year-old man died by suicide in his house. He was identified as Dominic Kipngetich.
Another incident was reported in Nyacheki, Kisii county and in Riruta, Nairobi.
Suicide incidents have been on the rise in the country amid efforts to address the menace.
Most of the victims are men, statistics show amid probe.
The World Health Organisation says such cases are attributed to joblessness, death, academic failures or pressures, legal difficulties and financial difficulties.
Other reasons are bullying, previous suicide attempts, history of suicide in a family, alcoholism and substance misuse, depression and bipolar disorder.
Meanwhile, police in Kuria West subcounty, Migori county have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a young woman found dead in a guest house room in Kehancha Township.
The incident was reported on Thursday morning by the owner of Umoja Bar and Restaurant and its adjoining guest house after being alerted by the facility’s manager.
The manager had discovered the body of the woman, identified only as Monicah, lying on a bed in one of the rooms.
Police visited the scene and established that the deceased, believed to be about 20 years old, had foam coming out of her mouth.
Her hair also appeared disturbed, with signs that some of it had been plucked.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman had checked into the room on the evening of March 25 at around 9.00 pm in the company of a man identified only as Mwita.
The man is now the prime suspect in the incident and is believed to have fled the scene during the night.
The scene was processed by crime scene investigators, and the body was moved to Kehancha Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
