Francis Munyao, popularly known as MCA Tricky, has opened up about his views on commitment and life. The comedian and radio presenter rose to fame on the Churchill Show, portraying a "chokoraa" (street boy) character.
He has since become a staple of Kenyan airwaves, clocking up seven years in the radio industry.
Speaking in a candid interview on Alex Mwakideu TV, Tricky shared a perspective that surprised many fans. He argued that for a man, marriage represents the most significant risk one can take.
The "Permanent Seal"
Tricky explained that he views marriage differently from other life ventures, such as career moves. He described the institution as a permanent seal. He noted that, unlike a professional setback, the "scars" of a failed marriage are difficult to erase.

The comedian highlighted that marriage is not just about two people. It involves children and shared financial growth. Because of these high stakes, he believes the potential for "deconstruction" is immense.
"Marriage is like a permanent seal, bro. Once you scratch that, you cannot erase the scar,” he said.
Roots of the Risk
The presenter admitted that his cautious nature stems from his past. He confessed to having a deep-seated fear of failure. Having seen what a "bad life" looks like, he is hesitant to make moves that might lead back there.

Tricky acknowledged that this fear is a personal weakness. However, he clarified that a "risk" is not inherently negative. To him, a risk is simply a situation that can end in one of two ways: very well or very badly.
Love "Under the Radar"
Despite his philosophy on risk, Tricky revealed that he is currently in a relationship. In fact, he plans to settle down as early as next year.
However, fans should not expect a lavish public ceremony. Tricky expressed a preference for a traditional wedding over a white wedding. He also intends to keep his partner’s identity private, a move he calls keeping her "chini ya maji" (underwater).
"I don't want to overlap my space with theirs. I want to respect other people's kids."

A New Chapter
This new outlook on life coincides with major lifestyle changes for the comedian. During the interview, Tricky shared that he had recently quit drinking alcohol. At the time of recording, he had been sober for 13 days.
He explained that alcohol was a drain on three pillars of life: time, energy, and finances. He now views his life as a "lease" and wants to spend his remaining time more intentionally.
Tricky concluded by advising others not to be swayed by the opinions of others, whether they claim marriage is beautiful or a scam. He insisted on walking his own journey by his own rules.
