Thousands of Muslims across the country have gathered in prayer to mark the Idd-ul-Fitr celebrations, signalling the end of Ramadan.

in Nairobi, some gathered at the newly renovated Kamkujinji grounds and in Kisumu they were at Highway Primary School.

The faithful, dressed in colourful attire, assembled in large numbers, with men and women praying in separate designated areas in line with Islamic tradition.

The prayers were followed by calls for unity, charity and gratitude after a month of fasting from dawn to dusk.

Idd-ul-Fitr is one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide.
