Detectives in Uasin Gishu County are investigating a murder following a fatal domestic dispute in the Langas area of Eldoret. Police said the incident occurred in the early hours of March 18, 2026.

Officers visited a hospital where they found the body of 30-year-old Boniface Masiva lying on a bed with a stab wound to the right thigh.

Investigations indicate that Masiva had been involved in a domestic dispute with his wife at their home in the Kisumu Ndogo area.

During the altercation, the woman allegedly stabbed Masiva with a knife.

Family members rushed both individuals to hospital, but Masiva was pronounced dead on arrival due to excessive bleeding.

The suspect, who sustained minor head injuries, was treated and later discharged. Police escorted her to the station, where she remains in custody pending further investigations.

Authorities said Masiva’s body will undergo a post-mortem examination as detectives probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Elsewhere, in Homa Bay County, detectives are investigating a murder in Rachuonyo East Sub-County, where a man was allegedly killed by his two brothers.

Preliminary investigations indicate that at around 7:00 am, two brothers assaulted their younger sibling, 25-year-old Alfred Odhiambo Adie, at their home in Miriu Village, Kawuor Location. The victim sustained severe injuries and died while being rushed to hospital. His body was later moved to a mortuary.

Police found blood stains on bedding and walls at the shared house.

Authorities recovered a panga and a slasher believed to have been used in the attack, both bearing blood stains. Adie’s body, preserved at Jawabu Funeral Home, showed deep cuts on the head suspected to have been inflicted by a sharp object.

One suspect has been arrested and is held at Othoro Police Station pending arraignment at Oyugis Law Courts, while the second suspect remained at large on Thursday, with police intensifying efforts to track him down.

Police noted that most murders in the area are linked to land disputes. Other leading causes include disputes in love triangles and failed business deals. Several cases remain under investigation.
