Police said Roseline Achieng Odhiambo, 37, was found lifeless in her home with multiple injuries.

The incident came to light after a neighbor reported hearing loud commotions from the couple’s house.

Boda boda riders who responded to the scene reportedly cornered the husband as he attempted to flee.

Witnesses said the suspect had allegedly assaulted his wife before neighbors intervened.

The riders subjected him to mob injustice, leaving him seriously injured. Police later arrived, took the suspect into custody, and transported the body to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) morgue, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the assault and urged residents to allow law enforcement to handle criminal cases to prevent further tragedies.

Such domestic incidents are reportedly on the rise, prompting campaigns encouraging couples to resolve differences amicably. There is a perception that most victims in such violence are women, which has fueled efforts to address the problem.

Elsewhere, police in Narok County are investigating the death of an unidentified woman found lifeless near a culvert along the Narok–Nakuru Road.

The woman, believed to be around 30 years old, was reportedly seen loitering in local bars the previous day. Police who responded to the scene said the body had no visible injuries. The body was transported to the Narok morgue for post-mortem examination.

In Mpuri, Imenti North Sub-County, a 37-year-old man died after his house was engulfed in flames in a suspected arson incident. Police said the fire was first reported at around 9:00 p.m. on March 18.

The deceased, identified as Erick Mwenda, was reportedly heard screaming for help from inside his two-bedroom wooden house by his mother.

A Samaritan who responded attempted to force open the door but could not gain entry, as it was locked from the inside and the fire had intensified. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the estimated value of the property is yet to be determined.

The body was transported to Meru General Hospital mortuary for preservation, pending a post-mortem examination.
