The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) will conduct a fire drill at Times Tower on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and ensure safety for staff and the public.

According to a notice issued by KRA, the exercise will include simulated emergency responses, such as evacuation procedures and coordination among safety teams.

"Members of the public, visitors, and tenants in and around the building may notice alarm activations, staff movement, and a heightened presence of safety personnel during the drill," KRA said.

KRA emphasised that the exercise is procedural and should not cause alarm.

The authority also noted that the drill will be carried out efficiently and is expected to take only a minimal amount of time.

The agency urged the public to cooperate during the exercise and directed those seeking further information to its contact channels, including Twitter (@KRACare), Facebook (Kenya Revenue Authority), email ([email protected]) and phone (+254 20 4 999 999 or +254 711 099 999).

A fire drill is a practice exercise that simulates an emergency, such as a fire, to test how people and safety teams respond.

It allows staff, visitors, and emergency personnel to rehearse evacuation procedures, use safety equipment, and coordinate responses without an actual emergency occurring.

Fire drills are conducted to improve preparedness, reduce risks, and ensure everyone knows what to do in a real fire.

Organisations hold these exercises regularly to comply with fire safety regulations and protect people in the building.
