Kenyan media personality Tallia Oyando has shared a moving tribute to the late urban music star E-Sir.
The post marks 23 years since the rapper's tragic death. Known to many as the "Night Nurse," Tallia expressed that the artist’s influence remains strong in the hearts of fans.
Tallia took to her social media handles to post a lengthy message filled with emotion. She described the late rapper as the "G.O.A.T" (Greatest of All Time). Even after more than two decades, she noted that his presence is still felt every single day.
A Message from the Heart
In her tribute, Tallia shared lyrics from one of E-Sir’s most famous tracks, "Hamnitishi." The lyrics use the metaphor of a car journey to describe the unpredictable nature of life.
"You are missed, we still feel your presence every single day. Keep resting Sizzo you remain the G.O.A.T 23 years Later." — Tallia Oyando.

The quoted lyrics speak of travelling the "road of life" without a spare tyre. The words reflect a sense of caution and faith, mentioning that one must drive slowly because a "puncture" or setback can happen at any time.
Tallia’s post ended with the simple but powerful statement: "TODAY WE SING E-SIR."
The Legacy of Issah Mmari
E-Sir, born Issah Mmari Wangui, was a Kenyan hip-hop sensation who changed the local music industry in the early 2000s. He was a leading light of the Ogopa Deejays label.

His career was brief but incredibly impactful. He is remembered for hits such as "Leo ni Leo," "Boomba Train," and "Moss Moss." His lyrical flow and use of Swahili redefined Kenyan urban music for a new generation.
A Tragic Loss for Kenya
E-Sir died in a road accident on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. He was returning to the capital after a successful performance in Nakuru. He was travelling with fellow musician Nameless, who survived the crash.
The loss of E-Sir at the age of 21 was a significant blow to the Kenyan entertainment industry. At the time of his death, he was arguably the most popular artist in the country.
Tallia Oyando’s tribute highlights how E-Sir’s music continues to resonate with both his peers and younger fans. She recalled him as the young man who used to hang out at "jobless corner" before finding fame.

His journey from a hopeful artist to a national icon remains an inspiration. As Tallia noted in her post, his words and music continue to be heard on the radio and in the streets today.
The "Night Nurse" concluded her tribute with a broken heart emoji and the colours of the African flag, signalling a legacy that will never fade.
