PresidentWilliam Ruto on Monday launched the rehabilitation of the Chavakali–Lusiola and Shikumu–Malinya roads in Sabatia Constituency, Vihiga County, projects expected to improve transport and open up local markets.
The two roads, covering about 11 kilometres, will be upgraded for Sh953 million.
Ruto said the projects form part of the government’s broader plan to improve infrastructure and support economic activity in rural areas.
“Those seeking to compete with us must present their alternative plans for Kenya. Yet they cannot, because they are not only bereft of ideas but also blemished by questionable track records,” Ruto said.
He added that the government would remain focused on implementing development projects despite criticism from political rivals.
