Isaac Otesa, popularly known as Goliath wa Bungoma, has shared the details of his rapid transformation from a village cattle herder to a high-flying brand ambassador in Nairobi.
Otesa first gained public attention during the peak of the 2024 Gen Z protests. Many people noticed his striking resemblance to Bradley Marongo, another tall man dubbed Gen Z Goliath.
Speaking to Betty Kyallo on TV47, Otesa opened up about his new life and the financial rewards of his role with the automotive company, Carsoko.
The Money Reveal
During the interview, the discussion turned to Otesa’s earnings. While internet rumours suggested he makes as much as half a million Kenyan Shillings a month, Otesa was careful with the exact figures. He described the specific amount as a "secret" between him and his boss.

However, he revealed enough to show that his financial status has changed drastically. He no longer has to worry about a personal budget for daily needs.
"Nowadays, if my mother calls and says they have no sugar, I just send 10,000 Shillings, and I send my father 5,000,” Otesa said.
He also revealed that through his association with Carsoko, he doesn’t pay rent, and the company also caters to his designer wear.
A Life of Hardship
Before his fame, Otesa’s life in Bungoma was a struggle. He worked as a boda boda rider for three years to support his family. Disaster struck when his motorbike, which he was paying off through a loan, was stolen.

The incident led to his arrest and a three-week stint in jail. To secure his freedom, his parents were forced to sell a portion of their land. After his release, Otesa worked as a cattle herder, a job he held until he decided to travel to Nairobi to find his "lookalike," Bradley Marongo.
The Turning Point
Upon arriving in Nairobi, Otesa faced harsh criticism. During a media appearance, he was told he had no marketable talent and should return to the village.
"I felt very bad. I didn't even have a place to go when I left there,” he said with teary eyes.
However, his luck changed when he met a salesman named Patrick Riang’a, the proprietor of a car sales company called Carsoko, where Otesa was appointed as a brand ambassador.

Otesa, who once wore "Akala" shoes made from old tyres, now wears custom-made suits and shoes provided by his company. Despite his success, he remains focused on his work and his family, who now live with him in Nairobi.
He still hopes to meet Bradley Marongo one day to conduct a DNA test and settle the question of their resemblance once and for all.
