President William Ruto on Sunday presided over the award ceremony for the WRC Safari Rally Kenya winners in Naivasha.
Japanese driver Takamoto Katsuta delivered a standout performance to win the 2026 edition of the rally, securing his maiden victory on Kenyan soil.
Driving for Toyota Gazoo Racing, Katsuta clocked a cumulative time of 3:16:05.6 to finish ahead of Adrien Fourmaux of Hyundai Motorsport, who recorded 3:16:33.0.

The victory marked a historic moment for Katsuta, who appeared emotional as he reflected on the achievement after the race.
“Toyota has always believed in me. Thanks to the whole team. I am finally here because of them,” Katsuta said.
