The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has opened a 24-hour window for resolving disputes arising from its Phase III grassroots elections, set to take place in designated counties today, March 14.

The party’s Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC) will be available to receive, hear, and determine all complaints related to the elections.

According to a notice issued by the committee on Friday, all disputes must be lodged within 24 hours of the declaration of results or nomination decisions that trigger the dispute.

Submissions can be made electronically via email at [email protected].

Adrian Kamotho, chairman of the ENDRC, underscored that the committee is fully operational to handle all electoral concerns promptly.

The notice provides a formal mechanism for candidates and party members to raise grievances arising from the Phase III county-level elections.

UDA will conduct grassroots elections in 18 counties.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said the exercise will allow party members to elect officials at the polling centre level as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s internal democratic structures.

“The election of grassroots officials of the UDA party proceeds on Saturday, March 14, 2026, across 18 counties,” Kindiki said.

Counties set to conduct the exercise include Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Nyandarua and Laikipia.

Others are Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Murang’a and Kiambu.

According to Kindiki, the party will choose leaders who will represent the party at the polling centre level.

“Party members in the 18 counties will decide who the party leaders in each polling centre will be,” he said.

The DP said the grassroots elections are part of the party’s commitment to strengthening internal democracy and ensuring leaders are chosen by members at the lowest level.

“UDA remains committed to deepening internal democracy to enhance the legitimacy of those who speak on behalf of the party at all levels, in line with our ideology of bottom-up economic empowerment of the people,” Kindiki said.

He spoke after chairing a meeting at the party headquarters at Hustler Plaza in Nairobi, to review the preparedness of the upcoming elections.

Kindiki said the grassroots polls are part of the ruling party’s internal structures aimed at organising its membership and strengthening its political base ahead of future electoral contests.

UDA has been conducting grassroots elections in phases across different counties as it seeks to establish leadership structures from the polling station level to the national level.

The party has maintained that the process is designed to empower members at the grassroots and ensure leaders are directly accountable to party supporters.
