Septic tank./KNAOne learner has been confirmed dead while ten others were injured after falling into a septic tank at a school in Kapsabet on Wednesday.
The injured students were rushed to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital for treatment.
Hospital authorities confirmed that one of the learners had succumbed to injuries on arrival.
President William Ruto visited the school to offer his sympathies to the institution and support the affected students and staff.
During the visit, he donated Sh5 million to assist with reconstruction efforts.
The incident has prompted concerns over school safety, and authorities are working to ensure that the remaining learners receive care and that the affected area is made safe for students.

Earlier, the 11 learners at a school for the deaf in Kapsabet were reported to have fallen into a septic tank. According to witnesses, the learners were watching the presidential motorcade arriving in the area when the tragedy struck.
