Fame is no longer just about red carpets and applause. For a select group of stars, it has become a springboard to immense financial power.
According to the 2026 Forbes World’s Billionaires list, 22 celebrities have now translated their fame into ten-figure fortunes.
The collective wealth of this group has reached a staggering $48.1 billion. This represents a significant increase from 2025, when 18 celebrities collectively held a total of $39 billion.
The shift is driven by stars acting more like entrepreneurs and less like employees.
The Masters of the Screen
Steven Spielberg remains at the summit of the rankings with a net worth of $7.1 billion. As the highest-grossing director of all time, he still receives a portion of every ticket sold at Universal theme parks thanks to hits like Jaws and Jurassic Park.

Close behind is his long-time peer George Lucas, worth $5.2 billion. Since selling Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012 for $4 billion, he has largely retired from filmmaking to focus on philanthropy.
Michael Jordan occupies the third spot with $4.3 billion. While his playing salary totalled only $90 million, he has earned over $2 billion from partners like Nike.

She has reinvested some of the profits from her show, plus profits from films like The Color Purple, Beloved and Selma (which her Harpo Productions co-produced) into her sprawling real estate portfolio.
Jay-Z sits at number 6 with net worth of $2.8 billion. Since becoming hip-hop's first billionaire in 2019, Jay-Z has nearly tripled his fortune, thanks in large part to his lucrative liquor businesses.
He sold 50% of spirits brand Armand de Brignac, otherwise known as Ace of Spades, to luxury goods giant LVMH in 2021, and sold a majority of his stake in cognac brand D'Usse to Bacardi in 2023.
