The incident happened on Sunday afternoon when the four children were playing within their compound in Ishikalame Sub-location when they were suddenly attacked by bees.
The children were rescued and rushed to St Irene Hospital Musanda for treatment in serious condition.
However, one of the children, a five-year-old PP1 pupil at St Irene ECD, died at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday while undergoing treatment, police said.
The other three children were treated and later discharged from the hospital in fair condition.
The body of the deceased child was moved to Butere Sub-County Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
In Oloolua, Kajiado County, a man was found dead after he was attacked and stung by bees.
The incident happened in the Kerarapon area on Saturday. The man’s body was found under beehives on a private farm long after he had been attacked.
The owner of the farm told police he and his workers had gone to harvest honey from the beehives when they stumbled upon the man’s body.
They rushed him to a nearby hospital in Ngong where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police were called to the scene and helped move the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere, police launched investigations after a man was found dead inside a pub in Kayole, Nairobi.
The owner of the bar located at Kayole Junction reported the incident at around 3:36 p.m. on Sunday.
He told police that earlier, at about 2:30 p.m., he received a call from an employee informing him that a man who had been sleeping inside the pub was unresponsive.
When he arrived at the premises, he found the man — known to them only as Amos — lying lifeless inside the establishment.
Police visited the scene and confirmed the incident. Initial examination of the body revealed no visible injuries, according to police.
The body was moved to Nairobi Funeral Home for preservation pending a postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man, Salim Mohamed Awadh, was found dead in a hotel room in Mombasa town.
He had checked into the hotel on March 6 in the morning hours and did not leave.
His brother, who had come to visit him, said he did not respond to knocks on the door.
This forced him to leave, thinking Awadh was tired and asleep.
On Sunday, when he visited again, there was still no response, and the hotel management confirmed that Awadh had not left the room.
They were forced to break into the room where they found him lying dead in the bathroom.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
