Police are investigating an incident in which a man was stabbed and killed during a fight with his friend.

The deceased, identified as Reagan Wandera, 32, was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police and hospital officials said the body had a stab wound to the neck.

The suspected assailant fled the scene following the March 9 incident, police said. The body was moved to the mortuary pending further procedures.

A team of officers has been tasked with tracking down the suspect, even as police appealed to him to surrender for questioning.

Elsewhere in Sondu, Kericho County, Grace Chelangat Chepkwony was found murdered in her house, police said.

Her son was arrested over the incident after he claimed the woman had died in an accident within their compound.

Police officers who visited the scene recovered blood-stained clothes, broken window panes and a blood-stained walking stick.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. The motive of the murder was not immediately known.

Police said they had initially received reports that the woman had died in a car accident within the homestead, prompting an investigation that led to the arrest.

In Maragua, Murang’a County, police are also investigating the killing of a man who was stoned to death after allegedly assaulting his neighbour during an argument.

According to police, Isaac Maina Mungai was subjected to mob justice after attacking his neighbour with a machete and inflicting serious head injuries.

The body was moved to the mortuary while the injured neighbour was rushed to hospital as investigations continue.

In Kinna, Isiolo County, a herder identified as Fufan Wako, 22, was shot and killed in an attack.

He was alone in a field tending to livestock when he was shot by an unknown gunman.

Police said the motive of the shooting was not immediately known, as no animals were stolen.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

Authorities say the area has been experiencing a surge in attacks by armed criminals targeting livestock, a trend that has disrupted livelihoods and development as security agencies work to address the problem.
