Detectives are hunting for a man alleged to have killed his 42-year-old girlfriend at his house in Kiamariga, Nyeri County.

The motive for the murder had not been established, police said.

The body of Annah Nyaguthi was found in the man’s house long after she had died.

Police said the suspect worked as a houseboy at a home in the area and had invited the woman to his residence on March 6.

He allegedly escaped from the scene after the incident, according to police and local residents.

Police visited the house and found it locked from the outside before forcing it open. Inside, they discovered the woman’s body lying on the floor with visible injuries on the face and neck.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Police said the search for the suspected assailant is ongoing.

Elsewhere in Ndiru, Homa Bay County, a body was found floating in River Orembe in what police suspect was a drowning incident.

The victim was later identified as Philip Odhiambo, 52. The circumstances under which he drowned were not immediately known.

Police moved the body to the mortuary pending further procedures.

In another incident, detectives in Nairobi are investigating the killing of a man who was reportedly attacked in Akiba Estate.

The deceased was identified as Derrick Masinde.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, and the motive for the attack was not immediately known.

Police said the victim was hit on the head with a metal rod and died at the scene, adding that two men are believed to have been involved in the attack.

Officers later moved the body to the mortuary as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, in Thogoto, Kiambu County, a man was found murdered and his body abandoned by the roadside.

Police identified the victim as Victor Karani Ndwiga, 30. The body had visible injuries on the forehead and fresh injuries on the upper limbs.

Police also reported visible signs of strangulation around the neck.

Blood stains were seen from a distance leading to where the body was found, suggesting there may have been a confrontation between the deceased and the attackers.

No arrests had been made by the time of reporting, and the motive remains unknown.

In Kisumu’s Dago area, police also discovered the decomposed body of a man inside a house.

The deceased was identified as Eric Omondi, 39, whose body was found in his father’s abandoned house.

Police said the body appeared to have been at the scene for some time before it was discovered.
