The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has announced that the ongoing March application window is open to the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education candidates.

The opportunity follows the reopening of the KUCCPS application portal, giving eligible candidates — including those who missed the earlier January application window — another chance to apply for health training programmes at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

The initial application window for the March intake ran from January 7 to January 27, 2026 and was open to KCSE candidates from earlier examination years.

KUCCPS had initially indicated that the 2025 KCSE cohort would have an opportunity to apply for the September 2026 intake.

However, the agency has since revised its position, allowing candidates from the immediate preceding year to also submit applications for the March intake through the portal.

“Good news to 2025 KCSE class. You can now apply for KMTC March 2026 intake via the KUCCPS portal. Log in to http://students.kuccps.ac.ke and apply now,” the agency said.

During the January application phase, KUCCPS indicated that there were 21,774 vacancies across 36 diploma and certificate programmes offered in 98 KMTC campuses nationwide for the March intake.

However, the service stated that the March application window now features 31 courses.

Details on available programmes, participating institutions, minimum entry requirements and application procedures are accessible on the KUCCPS application portal at students.kuccps.ac.ke.

For this year’s intake, KMTC recommended lowering the minimum subject requirement in Biology or Biological Sciences for the Certificate in Health Insurance Management Programme from a minimum grade of D+ to a minimum of D (plain).

KUCCPS clarified that the revision of minimum requirements will not compromise training quality, as professional regulatory bodies continue to ensure that KMTC maintains required training standards.

The March application window opened on March 3 and will close on March 13, 2026. All applications must be submitted online through the KUCCPS placement system.

Candidates are not required to present physical KCSE certificates or result slips since the KUCCPS system can verify academic qualifications electronically.

“Nobody, including cybercafé attendants, should request placement applicants to provide their KCSE certificates or result slips. To be safe, applicants seeking Internet services are advised to visit Huduma Centres. We have trained staff working in cybercafes located inside Huduma Centres,” KUCCPS CEO Mercy Wahome said during the January application phase.

KMTC continues to position itself as Kenya’s leading institution for training middle-level health professionals, attracting applicants from across the country and beyond.

Through its wide network of campuses, the college provides practical and market-responsive training designed to prepare graduates for service delivery in local and international healthcare settings.

Prospective students are encouraged to apply for the various programmes designed to equip trainees with technical competence, ethical grounding and practical experience needed to strengthen healthcare delivery.

Speaking on the reopening of the KUCCPS portal, KMTC CEO Kelly Oluoch urged eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity to pursue healthcare careers.

“Healthcare is not just a career; it is a calling that saves lives and transforms nations. At KMTC, we are committed to training competent, compassionate and globally competitive health professionals who will continue to strengthen healthcare systems in Kenya and beyond,” he said.
