The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has re-advertised the position of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), signalling a renewed effort to fill one of its top leadership roles.

According to the advert, the Managing Director/CEO will report directly to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and leadership of the authority’s activities.

The role requires a leader capable of guiding the organisation’s operations in line with market demands and the evolving aviation sector.

The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of strategic plans, ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, manage financial performance, and deliver value to stakeholders, including the government, passengers, and employees.

“It is a three-year contract renewable once, subject to satisfactory performance or attainment of mandatory retirement age, whichever happens earlier,” the notice reads.

Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Management, Marketing, Statistics, or Social Sciences from a recognised university in Kenya.

Candidates are also required to have at least ten years of professional experience, including a minimum of five years in senior management, demonstrating leadership capacity and the ability to manage complex organisations.

Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, which requires high integrity and ethical standards for public office holders, is mandatory.

In addition to academic and professional qualifications, applicants must submit clearance certificates from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), and a credit reference report from an approved bureau.
