The deceased salonist, Florence Nyagah./HANDOUTA police officer accused of killing his wife has surrendered to authorities in Naivasha, police said.
The suspect, described by police as an officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road, presented himself to officers on the evening of Tuesday, March 3.
He was later transferred to Kasarani Police Station in Nairobi for processing and possible arraignment.
Police allege that the officer stabbed his wife, Florence Nyagah, at their home along Lumumba Drive in Roysambu. According to investigators, she sustained multiple stab wounds.
Her body was discovered in a room on the second floor of their apartment on the morning of March 1, 2026. Police officers who visited the scene said she had stab wounds to the chest and forehead and was lying on the floor.
A knife believed to have been used in the incident was recovered under a kitchen table. The weapon reportedly had no handle.
Police said the woman, who operated a salon in the area, had last been seen in the house on February 28. She had spoken to her daughter via video call that day.
The body was later discovered by the daughter after the deceased failed to respond to subsequent calls. Authorities were alerted and the body was moved to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
Police said the suspect had been unaccounted for before presenting himself in Naivasha.
The motive for the alleged killing has not yet been established, and investigations are ongoing.
Authorities say homicide cases remain under active review as part of broader efforts to address rising incidents of violent crime
