Nairobi came to a standstill on Monday morning, 2 March 2026, as a galaxy of Kenyan stars gathered to flag off comedian-turned-activistEric Omondi for his latest humanitarian mission.

Omondi is embarking on a gruelling 466-kilometre walk from the capital to the Busia border to raise funds for the completion of the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre.

Champions on the Road

Leading the pack of supporters was Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, who officially flagged off the activist as he began the first leg of the journey.

Omanyala’s presence added a high-octane boost to the event, symbolising the speed and endurance required for such a massive undertaking.

The "Sisi Kwa Sisi" movement, which translates to "Us for Us," relies on this exact kind of community spirit to drive its grassroots fundraising efforts.

"I am going to keep walking and probably the whole of Kenya until this project is complete," Omondi stated during the launch.

Online sensation Azziad Nasenya was also spotted among the crowd, offering encouragement to Omondi as he set out toward the Rift Valley.

Her involvement highlights the significant role social media play in the Sisi Kwa Sisi campaign, which often raises millions of shillings through small, individual donations from followers.

Other notable figures reported to have shown support at the Nairobi start line included fellow comedians and activists who have previously stood by Omondi during his February trek to Mombasa.

Martin Namasaka, the man who went viral for walking around with a Wi-Fi router on his helmet and content creator Commentator254 were also spotted among the crowd on Waiyaki Way enroute to Western Kenya.

The Mission: Sisi Kwa Sisi Rescue Centre

This 466km trek follows Omondi’s successful 484km "Walk of Love" to Mombasa just weeks ago. The primary goal of this second journey is to secure the remaining resources needed to finish the rescue centre before May 2026.

The facility is designed to be a sanctuary for vulnerable Kenyans, providing free healthcare, education, and emergency medical services.

Omondi has urged well-wishers to contribute anything from cash to construction materials like cement and nails to ensure the project stays on schedule.
