President William Ruto on Sunday participated in the centenary celebrations of Alliance High School held in Kikuyu Constituency, marking 100 years since the institution’s founding.
Accompanying the President was Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba and Education PS Prof Julius Bitok.
Founded in 1926, Alliance High School began as a bold experiment to educate African boys to the highest possible standard, with character as the foundation.

Alliance High School is one of Kenya’s oldest and most prestigious secondary schools, established in 1926 by the Alliance of Protestant Churches under the leadership of Reverend John William Arthur.
It was founded with the aim of providing quality education to African boys during the colonial period, at a time when educational opportunities for Africans were extremely limited.
The school’s creation was inspired by a vision to nurture leaders who would serve their communities and the nation, combining academic excellence with moral and spiritual development.
Originally starting with a small group of students, Alliance High School quickly gained a reputation for high academic standards and disciplined learning, becoming a model for other schools in the country.
Over the decades, Alliance High School has played a pivotal role in shaping Kenya’s leadership, producing many prominent figures in politics, education, business, and public service.
