Has a powerful government honcho allegedly fallen out with his own backyard brigade? Well, during a recent tour of the region, political watchers reportedly noticed something rather odd — the local MPs were missing. Well, not entirely, but most of the area MPs and key elected leaders supposedly gave the visit a wide berth. Only two MPs and a sprinkling of MCAs showed up to welcome the man. It is widely rumoured that employment letters for a critical human resource in one influential ministry allegedly pass through legislators before reaching lucky applicants. Similar claims have reportedly followed recruitment into some disciplined forces, where politicians allegedly flex their muscles. Nowhere is that more evident than in the relationship between two politicians who reportedly marched into the 2022 elections as allies but lost. Fate later smiled on them, each allegedly landing a plum government post, albeit at different times. Fast forward to today and the bromance appears shaky. Opposition figures have been among the loudest critics of the ministry the ally heads. Talk about friendly fire.

One opposition bigwig is reportedly slowly discovering that the ground has shifted beneath his feet.

While he has been making plenty of noise against the government and calling for political change, his influence back home allegedly seems to be shrinking by the day. His recent political outings in the backyard have reportedly produced more losses than wins — and some of those defeats reportedly came with help from a long-time ally. The chatter in the village is getting louder: did the man allegedly spend too much time enjoying city lights and forgot the village paths? One politician from the area was reportedly overheard suggesting, rather cheekily, that perhaps it is time the veteran considered early retirement from the rough and tumble of politics.
