President William Ruto today inspected the ongoing construction of the Kabete Social Protection Affordable Housing Project in Westlands, Nairobi County.

The project, located near the University of Nairobi's Kabete Campus and the Kenya School of Government, features 18 residential blocks, a clubhouse, and a kindergarten, targeting staff, students, and surrounding communities.

Ruto launched its construction in March 2025.

During the tour, the President also visited Kangemi Primary School to assess the progress of newly constructed classrooms.

Ruto said the government has built 3,000 new classrooms across the country over the past three years as part of efforts to improve learning conditions.

At Kangemi Primary School alone, 16 new classrooms have been completed.

He noted that in Nairobi, the national government is constructing 314 classrooms, while Members of Parliament are putting up an additional 500 through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).

He was accompanied by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, county woman representative Esther Passaris, Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwour among several others.

The President said the investment in school infrastructure is aimed at easing congestion and providing a better learning environment, emphasising that expanding education facilities remains a priority because of the importance of investing in the country’s children.
