Kenyan content creators Naomi Kuria and Dianah Daisy have updated their followers after a tense encounter with immigration authorities in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The pair, who are currently on holiday, were held for several hours for questioning at the capital's immigration office.
The duo addressed the incident through a joint video posted on their Instagram accounts. They appeared relieved as they confirmed their release to their online community.
"When you see us here, we are free. We are finally free," they told their audience.

A Standard Procedure for Travellers
The detention began during a routine entry check at the Indonesian immigration office. According to the creators, the officers asked a series of questions regarding their travel intentions.
The authorities wanted to know exactly what the pair planned to do during their stay in the country.
Daisy noted that such scrutiny is a common experience for those visiting the nation for the first time.
"This is so normal if you're travelling in a country for the first time. Very, very normal," she explained. She compared this to her own past experiences, noting that because this was her third time visiting Indonesia, she personally faced fewer questions than her companion.

"We were walking with Naomi, and I was supposed to be the first one to produce the passport. I don’t know what really happened, and we found out that her passport was the first. So, she was being questioned, and I came in to answer,” Daisy explained the ordeal.

The Financial Verification Process
The primary reason for the extended detention involved financial vetting. Indonesian officials required proof that the visitors could support themselves during their stay in the capital.
Jakarta is known to be an expensive city, and authorities often seek to ensure that tourists have sufficient funds.
The creators were asked to produce their bank account details and current balances. The officers conducted a thorough check to understand if the pair had enough money to cover their expenses while in the city.
"What saved us is the bank accounts, the money. They really want to understand if you really have enough money to sustain you during your stay,” they added.
Proof of Funds Leads to Release
After several hours of uncertainty, the situation was resolved through financial documentation. Once the creators presented their bank statements, the immigration officers were satisfied with the figures.
"The moment the bank balance was good, it was good for us, and then they allowed us to go," the creators shared in their video.

They described the "good" balance as the key factor that secured their freedom and allowed them to continue their holiday.
The two are now continuing their trip across Indonesia. They ended their video on a positive note, showing they were back to enjoying their time abroad after the brief legal hurdle.
