
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced that the 2026 Administrative Officers’ Examination will take place from Monday, April 13 to Friday, April 17 at Machakos.
Candidates will be informed of their specific examination venues after completing registration.
To be eligible, officers must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from a recognised university, have completed the Induction Course, and served as an Administrative Officer for at least six months.
First-time registrants are required to submit certified copies of their appointment letter, national ID, academic certificates, proof of induction course attendance, and two passport-sized photographs on a white background.
Candidates re-sitting the exam only need to submit the photographs.
Registration forms are available on the PSC website, www.publicservice.go.ke
First-time candidates must fill in FORM A, while those re-sitting must complete FORM B. All completed forms, accompanied by the Government copy of the E-Citizen receipt, should be submitted to the Secretary/CEO, Public Service Commission, P. O. Box 30095-00100, Nairobi, by Friday, March 13, 2026, at 5.00 pm.
Applicants are required to pay a basic registration fee of Sh3,500, with an additional Sh875 per paper for all eight papers, and a Sh50 E-Citizen access fee.
Candidates must attempt all eight papers in their first sitting.
The PSC has provided a detailed online registration procedure through the E-Citizen platform. Candidates must log in, select PSC Examinations, provide personal details, choose the examination type and subjects, and select the examination centre.
After confirming their details, applicants are advised to complete the registration process and await approval from the PSC, which will be communicated via their E-Citizen profile and SMS.
Once approved, candidates can pay the required fees and attach the government receipt to their registration forms.
Paul Famba, CBS, Secretary and CEO of the Public Service Commission, emphasised the importance of adhering to the registration deadlines.
“All registration forms, accompanied by the Government copy of the E-Citizen receipt, must reach the Commission not later than Friday, March 13, 2026 by 5.00 p.m.,” he said.
The PSC also reminded candidates that detailed instructions and the registration forms are accessible on the commission’s website. Officers are urged to ensure that all required documents are complete to avoid delays or disqualification.
