The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the application portal for the Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies) at the Kenya School of Law.

The Kenya School of Law is mandated to provide professional legal training in the country as a government agency.

The Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies) programme is designed to train individuals to serve across various fields of law while instilling professional preparedness and ethical commitment in legal practice.

The two-year professional course equips students with foundational legal knowledge, practical skills and ethical training to support advocates, work in court administration, or handle legal matters in corporate and NGO settings.

Trainees learn to manage case files, conduct legal research and draft legal documents.

The programme also provides a foundation for those who wish to pursue further studies in the legal field. KUCCPS said the minimum entry requirement is a mean grade of C (plain) in KCSE, with at least C+ (plus) in English and Kiswahili.

According to the Kenya School of Law website, additional qualifying requirements include at least one principal pass at the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) examination, a pass in a certificate law course offered by an accredited legal education provider, or a certificate of experiential learning issued by the Council of Legal Education.

The application window opened on February 23 and will close on March 9, 2026. Applications are to be submitted online via the KUCCPS student portal.

Successful applicants will be placed at either the Kenya School of Law Karen Campus or the Nairobi Town Campus located at Development House, 5th and 6th Floor, New Wing, Moi Avenue.

The weekday programme comprises in-person day classes and virtual evening classes. It runs for a minimum of two academic years, with three terms in each year.

Students may register for a maximum of four course units per term. To qualify for the award of the Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies), candidates must complete the course within a minimum of two academic years and a maximum of three academic years.

The Kenya School of Law has previously indicated in its application requirements that at least 75 per cent of the fees for each term must be paid at registration, with the balance cleared at least two weeks before the commencement of examinations.

This is the first time applications are being made via KUCCPS.

Previously, applications were via the Kenya School of Law website www.ksl.ac.ke.
