Taita Taveta University has advertised a wide range of academic and administrative positions cutting across its schools, directorates and support departments, inviting qualified candidates to apply for permanent and pensionable appointments as well as a contractual role under its Endowment Fund.
In the School of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, the university is seeking to recruit a Lecturer (Grade 12) or Senior Lecturer (Grade 13) in History under Ref. No. TTU/AC/L/01/02/2026.
The position, which has one vacancy, targets candidates with appropriate academic qualifications and teaching experience in the discipline, in line with Commission for University Education standards and university requirements for appointment at lecturer or senior lecturer level.
Within the School of Education, the institution has opened several positions at Lecturer (Grade 12) or Senior Lecturer (Grade 13) level in different specialisations.
Under Ref. No. TTU/AC/SL/L/02/02/2026, two posts are available in Philosophy of Education, Sociology of Education or Comparative Education.

Under administrative positions, the School of Science and Informatics has re-advertised the position of Chief Technologist (Grade 12) in Chemistry under Ref. No. TTU/AD/MSPS/CT/01/02/2026.
The post, which has one vacancy, calls for a highly qualified technologist with experience in laboratory management, equipment maintenance and supervision of technical staff.
The same school is also recruiting a Technologist II (Grade 7) in Civil Engineering under Ref. No. TTU/AD/CEE/TII/01/02/2026, with one available position.
The technologist will be expected to support practical sessions, maintain workshop and laboratory facilities, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
In the Students Welfare Department, the university has re-advertised the position of Principal Student Counsellor (Grade 12) under Ref. No. TTU/AD/SW/PSC/01/02/2026.
The role, with one vacancy, is aimed at a qualified counselling professional to head student counselling services and oversee mental health and psychosocial support programmes.
Also listed is a Technologist II (Grade 7) in Civil Engineering under Ref. No. TTU/AD/CEE/TII/01/02/2026, with one post.
The Directorate of Administration, Planning and Development is seeking to recruit two Senior Administrative Assistant I officers (Grade 11) under Ref. No. TTU/AD/APD/SAA/02/02/2026.
It has also advertised one position for Secretarial Assistant II (Grade 3) under Ref. No. TTU/AD/APD/SAII/01/02/2026.
These officers will support administrative, planning and clerical functions within the directorate.
In the Department of Library, one vacancy exists for Library Attendant I (Grade 4) under Ref. No. TTU/AD/LIB/LAI/01/02/2026 and another for Library Attendant III (Grade 2) under Ref. No. TTU/AD/LIB/LAIII/01/02/2026.
The roles are geared towards strengthening library support services, including shelving, cataloguing assistance and user support.
The Department of Internal Audit has one vacancy for Senior Internal Audit Assistant I (Grade 8) under Ref. No. TTU/AD/IA/SIAAI/01/02/2026, targeting a professional capable of supporting internal audit reviews and ensuring compliance with financial and operational controls.
Under the Taita Taveta University Endowment Fund, the institution is recruiting a Project Assistant/Accountant on a one-year contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
The position, equivalent to University Grade 8, is advertised under Ref. No. TTU/EF/PAA/01/02/2026 and has one vacancy.
The successful candidate will support project accounting, financial reporting and fund management activities.
The university stated that all positions are on permanent and pensionable terms, except for the Project Assistant/Accountant role, which is contractual for one year but renewable.
Successful candidates will be entitled to applicable allowances as approved by the University Council.
