Trailblazers against the Kenya Army in a past match/ CHARLENE MALWA
Trailblazers Volleyball Club will look to build on their mixed first-leg results when the Kenya Volleyball Federation Men’s National League resumes at Kasarani Indoor Arena from February 19–22.
The ambitious, self-supported side opened the season with a 3–0 victory over defending champions GSU (25-21, 25-13, 25-22), a 3–0 loss to KPA, and a narrow 1–3 defeat to Equity (19-25, 17-25, 26-25, 27-29).
Team manager Leshan Julius said the results highlight their growing credentials as genuine title contenders.
Trailblazers have strengthened their squad with Malawian international Griffin Lwazi, joining compatriot Moses Mzumara.
Julius believes the signing adds crucial depth to sustain a serious title challenge: “The signing of Lwazi greatly puts us in a position to fight for the league title this season. We are hopeful of him helping the club achieve its targets as set out by the coach, as well as the rest of the playing unit.”
The team, seeking a historic maiden national league crown, opens the second-leg campaign against Kenya Forest Service on Friday, February 20, followed by a clash with Eldoret Water on Saturday, aiming to build momentum for the title push.

Meanwhile, defending champions GSU have reinforced their roster with Hudson Kipchumba and three recruits from the Kenya Airport Police Unit: Felix Ouma, Abraham Wabwire, and Douglas Cherop.
Head coach Gideo Tarus highlighted the impact of the new signings: “These boys bring fresh energy and a winning mindset. This is what championship teams need — players ready to push for places and raise standards.”
The second leg promises fierce competition as the Trailblazers look to sustain their surprising form and GSU aims to reassert its dominance.
