President William Ruto, on Wednesday, toured key infrastructure and environmental restoration projects in Nairobi, where he used the visit to defend his administration’s development-focused approach and reaffirm his commitment to transforming the capital.
The President said meaningful progress requires practical plans and measurable results, dismissing what he termed as “noise, negativity and activism without a clear and demonstrable development agenda.”
“Unlike our opponents, we have a plan and a track record to back it up. There is no turning back in the journey to transform Kenya,” he said.

During the inspection tour, Ruto assessed ongoing works at the Ngomongo Quarry dumpsite, where rehabilitation efforts are underway to address years of environmental degradation and improve waste management.
He also inspected the construction of trunk sewer infrastructure at the Dandora Bridge, a project aimed at expanding sanitation coverage and reducing pollution flowing into the Nairobi River.
The President further visited Kamukunji Community Park, where landscaping and beautification works are in progress to create a safe and accessible public recreational space for residents.
He said the projects are part of a broader partnership between the National Government and the Nairobi County Government to modernise the city’s infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents.

“In partnership with the County Government of Nairobi, we are building a modern, functional city, one that is liveable, secure, orderly and environmentally responsible,” he said.
Ruto noted that the collaboration reflects a shared vision of a capital that serves its people efficiently while meeting the standards of a growing global city.
The tour also highlighted the Nairobi River Regeneration and Engineering Works Programme, a flagship initiative aimed at restoring the river ecosystem, improving drainage and sewerage systems, and reclaiming riparian land.

Later, the President visited Lucky Summer in Ruaraka Constituency, where he inspected a completed trunk sewer line project.
He described the project as a major milestone in improving sanitation and restoring dignity to communities that have long lacked proper waste disposal systems.
The expanded sewer network is expected to improve public health, reduce environmental contamination and support orderly urban development in the densely populated area.
