The president said the meeting will also address climate-related priorities.
“We will also seek to advance Africa's common position on climate action, adaptation, resilience and climate finance, as well as accelerate deeper regional integration and expand intra-African trade,” Ruto said.
He added that Kenya will use the platform to rally support for its development plans.
“Through these engagements, we will mobilise greater support for Kenya’s national transformation agenda, especially in regard to infrastructure development, agro-industrial growth, expanded irrigation, and energy security,” he said.
The African Union Assembly brings together heads of state and government from member countries to deliberate on key political, economic and social issues affecting the continent.
Ruto’s participation comes as African leaders intensify discussions on institutional reforms, economic integration and strategies to address climate change, which continues to pose significant challenges across the region.
