Dorcus Ewoi during a previous race/ HANDOUTWorld 1,500m silver medallist Dorcus Ewoi and 2023 African Under-20 3,000m steeplechase champion Pamela Kosgei will take centre stage this weekend as the two Kenyans chase Indoor glory on opposite sides of the United States.
Ewoi, already in scintillating form since launching her 2026 Indoor season, will step up in distance, lining up for the 3,000m at the Asics Sound Invite on Saturday.
The 29-year-old burst into the season in dominant fashion, posting a World-leading 1,500m Indoor mark at last month’s New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.

Saturday will mark Ewoi’s eighth Indoor 3,000m outing, a distance she has conquered before.
Her past exploits include victories at the 2021 Carolina Challenge (9:34.33), 2023 Big South Championship (9:35.46), and the 2019 Texas Tech meet (10:32.88).
She will be joined by compatriot Susan Ejore, who is eager to climb the podium after a fifth-place finish in her season opener.
Ejore ran a Mile at the Millrose Games on February 1, clocking 4:22.23.
The podium places saw American Nikki Hiltz (4:19.64) lead Australia's Jessica Hull (4:20.11) and Kazimierska (4:21.36).
Saturday’s 3,000m will be only her second Indoor attempt at the distance, following her 2016 triumph at the Staten Island Classic (9:44.47).
Both Ewoi and Ejore will face stiff competition from American standout and 2019 Pan American Games 1,500m champion Nikki Hiltz.
Meanwhile, Pamela Kosgei will look to kick off her 2026 campaign with a bang at the Husky Classic, contesting the 3,000m Indoor.
Kosgei had a mixed 2025 Indoor season in the 3,000m.
She opened the year with a victory at the Mountain West Indoor Championships (9:08.28), but faded to 11th at the NCAA Championships (9:04.42).
Kosgei will be part of a strong Kenyan contingent, including Mercy Kibet, Betty Kipkore, and Marion Jepng’etich.
The Kenyan's will face stiff competition from American Mia Cochran.
