Kakamega MCAs allied to the Kenya Kwanza have vowed to present a unified front in their campaign for President William Ruto’s re-election in the 2027 general election.
Speaking during a consultative meeting with Deputy Governor Ayub Savula in the outskirts of Kakamega town, the leaders announced they had set aside previous political differences with their ODM counterparts and are now coordinating efforts to rally support for the President.
"We have agreed and resolved with Members of the County Assembly that we shall adopt a united approach in campaigning for President William Ruto to secure a second term in the forthcoming general elections,” Savula said.
The Deputy Governor further affirmed that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party remains cohesive, adding that consultations were ongoing with MPs from all 12 constituencies.
He said the goal is to strengthen sensitisation efforts and broaden grassroots involvement ahead of the polls.
Bonface Akosi, the MCA for Shinoi-Shikomari-Esumeiya Ward, reiterated the county leaders’ commitment to ensuring UDA secures a majority of elective seats, positioning the community strongly within government should the President be re-elected.
”We appreciate ODM-allied leaders who have boldly stepped forward to popularize the UDA party and campaign for President Ruto. As leaders, we have agreed to work together in mobilizing support for his re-election,” Akosi said.
Savula and Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka have taken leading roles in coordinating President William Ruto’s reelection campaign across Western Kenya.
The two leaders have been spearheading grassroots mobilization, engaging community elders, youth, and women groups to consolidate support for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Savula, leveraging his strong connections in Kakamega, has been organising rallies and outreach programs that highlight Ruto’s development achievements, including improvements in infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Lusaka has been emphasising continuity in leadership and the importance of regional representation in national decision-making.
Savula has affirmed that he and his team will deliver 2.6 million votes to Ruto.

Lusaka was appointed to coordinate Ruto’s re-election campaign in the Western Region, with Savula serving as his deputy.
Savula has dismissed any hopes by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of winning support from western, saying the region is firmly behind Ruto.
He emphasised that the campaign effort is not a personal initiative but a consolidated team effort of all Western leaders allied to Ruto.
Savula said they aim to secure support in the region that traditionally backed the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“We will transfer all the votes that we used to give Raila to Ruto,” Savula stated, underlining the strategic importance of Western Kenya in the next presidential contest.
