TV47 investigative journalist Samira Mohammed has shared the gripping story of how she secured an interview with the controversial Prophet David Owuor.

Speaking on Radio 47, Samira explained that the encounter led to her explosive exposé, "Divine or Deception." This report investigated claims of faith healing within the Prophet’s Repentance and Holiness Ministry.

The Investigation Begins

The story started following a large crusade in Nakuru in late 2025. During this event, the Prophet claimed to have cured HIV/AIDS, cancer, and blindness.

Samira decided to investigate these claims. She spoke with doctors who noted that such instant cures are medically impossible.

Samira travelled to Laikipia to meet a mother whose child had been taken to the church for healing. The woman revealed that despite three attempts at faith healing, her child’s condition did not improve.

“I travelled to the interior of Laikipia and met the woman, and the people around the community who testified that the church had a huge following in the area, she revealed.

When she questioned the church, they tried to take the child away from her. Tragically, the child later died after the mother was told to stop hospital treatment.

The Prophet Reaches Out

Surprisingly, Samira did not seek out the Prophet. Instead, his team contacted her. While she was in Rumuruti investigating victims, a bishop called her. He offered to fly her to Nairobi for an interview with the "Mightiest Prophet."

Samira declined the flight and waited until she returned to Nairobi. The church eventually arranged a meeting on a Friday afternoon.

The journalist noted that the church seemed to believe she was there to sanitize their image and promote the Prophet’s miracles.

“We did not look for him; he looked for us. While in Rumuruti, one of the bishops called me and asked if they could meet with me. They later revealed that Prophet Owuor wanted to speak to me,she said.

A Ten-Hour Ordeal

The interview took place at the Prophet’s Nairobi residence. Samira and her crew arrived at 3:00 PM. They did not leave until 1:00 AM the following morning.

Samira described a toxic environment inside the home. She witnessed the Prophet shouting at his staff and high-ranking followers, including senior lawyers.

"He is not a good person. The good person you can easily know him from the way he treats people around him," Samira told Radio 47.

She described how followers were not allowed to look him in the eye and often sat on the floor while he sat above them.

The 'Blessing' and the Refund

As the crew prepared to leave, the Prophet ordered his bishops to "bless" them with money. The team received KSh 20,000 via mobile money.

Samira and her CEO decided to keep the money until the exposé was ready to air. They did this to ensure their safety and to prevent the church from claiming they had asked for a bribe.

Once the story was set for broadcast, the crew refunded the full amount, including the withdrawal fees.
