In a message shared on his official social media handle, Gachagua said: “I will be addressing the nation on the state of our country today at 12:00 Noon from Party Headquarters. Tune in.”

The address comes a day after Gachagua and Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika were engaged in a heated exchange over political and personal allegations.

Kihika had accused the former Deputy President of repeatedly targeting her and her spouse in public statements, calling his attacks personal and politically motivated.

During a statement on Monday, Kihika said much of Gachagua’s recent speeches focused on attacking her family rather than outlining a national agenda.

“You came to Kinamba, Naivasha, yesterday, and 90 per cent of your speech was insulting my spouse and me. You didn’t even give a single agenda on what you would do for the country should you ever be elected,” she said on social media.

Gachagua had raised concerns about the role of the National Police Service during a public event in Nakuru County.

In a statement to the head of the police service on Monday, he said that during a meeting on January 30, 2026, with other national leaders, assurances had been given that police would respect constitutional guarantees on freedom of movement and assembly and would not interfere with public meetings.

He claimed that during his recent visit to Kinamba Trading Centre, a roadblock was erected at Karati River, delaying his entourage and allegedly harassing members of the public.

“I specifically alerted you that the Police Command in Nakuru County was in the hands of the spouse to the County Governor,” Gachagua said in a statement on X.

The upcoming address is expected to touch on national issues and outline the party’s positions, although Gachagua has not disclosed the specific topics.

Party officials confirmed that the speech will be streamed live across multiple platforms for accessibility.

Analysts expect the speech to address governance, public security, and economic issues, given the backdrop of recent disputes.
