Be A Pro Swim Club dominated the Kiambu Level Two Swimming Championships held over the weekend at Potterhouse Senior School, emerging as the overall winners.

The club topped the medal standings after collecting an impressive 21 gold, three silver and five bronze medals. Aga Khan Swimming Club finished as first runners-up with 14 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze medals, while Moi Educational Centre placed third with 12 gold and two silver medals.

In the men’s category, 'Be A Pro Swim Club' continued their dominance, finishing top with 14 gold, two silver and five bronze medals. Seal Swim Club claimed second place with seven gold medals, while Aga Khan Swimming Club settled for third after posting six gold, 10 silver and five bronze medals.

The women’s category was led by Braeburn Swimming Club, who topped the standings with seven gold, four silver and one bronze medal. They were closely followed by Wave Warriors, who matched Braeburn’s gold tally with seven gold medals, alongside two silver and three bronze medals.

Individual performances also stood out during the championship. Jaeden Nygel of Genesis Sports Limited claimed gold in the boys’ 10–11 years 100 metres individual medley, clocking 1:29.05 — a qualifying time for the upcoming national championships.

Charles Price of Super Marlin Swim Club took silver in 1:42.15, while Junior Aaron of Woodcreek School finished third in 2:00.62. In the girls’ nine-and-under 200m freestyle, Maya Smith of Wave Warriors Swimming Club clinched gold, clocking 3:28.36.

Nadia Wachira of Visa Dolphin Club finished second in 3:30.89, with Olive Maina of Woodcreek School taking bronze in 3:46.42. The championship attracted 19 schools and clubs from Murang’a, Nairobi, Laikipia, Machakos and Kiambu counties, with more than 150 athletes taking part.

The primary objective of the gala was to enable swimmers to post qualifying times for the upcoming Kenya Aquatics Long Course Championships, scheduled for February 13–15, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Centre.
