The Clerical Officer II position has 44 vacancies, Office Administrative Assistant III (20), Office Assistant IV (65), Driver III/Plant Operator III (32), Artisans (35), Receptionist Assistant III (eight), Security Warden III (55), Cook III (20), Housekeeping Assistant III (20) and Animal Husbandry Assistant III (55).

All the positions are on a one-year contract, as indicated in the notice. Applicants are required to submit their applications using the Public Service Commission (PSC) Form, which can be downloaded from the PSC website.

The department emphasised that candidates must submit only one application form for one position, warning that submitting multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.

The ministry further cautioned applicants to ensure that all information provided is accurate and complete, noting that providing false or misleading information is a criminal offence.

In addition, “canvassing for any position will result in automatic disqualification.”

As part of compliance with the Constitution, the State Department said it is committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in public service recruitment.

Women, youth, persons with disabilities, and individuals from marginalised and minority communities have been strongly encouraged to apply.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original documents during the interview stage, including national identity cards, academic and professional certificates, and transcripts.

The department also warned the public against fraudsters, stressing that it does not charge any fees for job applications, shortlisting, interviews or appointments.

Completed application forms, together with certified copies of academic and professional certificates, should be addressed to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Livestock Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

Applications must be submitted on or before February 28, 2026, at 5pm.

The recruitment drive comes amid renewed focus by the government on strengthening the livestock sector, which plays a critical role in food security, employment creation and rural livelihoods.

The livestock subsector is a critical pillar of Kenya’s economy and a key contributor to national food security, particularly in arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) where crop farming is limited. It supports millions of livelihoods through the production of meat, milk, eggs and other animal products, while also providing income, employment and a safety net for pastoral and agro-pastoral communities.
