Kenyan entertainer Eric Omondi is trading the stage for the open road. On the 10th of February, Omondi will begin a massive journey from Nairobi to Mombasa.
He plans to walk the entire distance to raise funds for a new humanitarian project.
The comedian shared the news with his followers on Instagram. He will start the trek at Nairobi Stadium and finish at Mama Ngina in Mombasa. The journey covers a total of 486 kilometres.
Omondi expects to reach the coastal city on the 14th of February, which is Valentine’s Day.

A Mission of Mercy
The walk aims to support the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre. Omondi described the initiative as a "walk of love" because of its timing.

He hopes the centre will become a place where any Kenyan can find immediate help.
"I will be walking from Nairobi to Mombasa from the 10th of February to the 14th of February (Valentine's Day). I am walking to raise Funds to build The SISI KWA SISI HELP AND RESCUE CENTRE,” he updated.
The Four Pillars of the New Centre
During his walk, Omondi is focused on raising funds to establish four specific facilities within the rescue centre. These include:
• A Warehouse: This will store physical donations. People have already offered items like bags of cement, roofing sheets, rice, and sugar.
• Two Ambulances: These vehicles will be used for emergency medical response and rescuing those in need.
• A Clinic: The centre will provide healthcare services to the public.
• A Free Secondary School: Omondi plans to include an educational facility to help children in the future.

Progress by the Numbers
The Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative has already been active in the community. Over the last two years, the team has successfully handled 208 cases. However, Omondi noted that many more cases are still pending.
The walk is not just a physical challenge but a public event. Upon his arrival in Mombasa on Valentine’s evening, there will be a special show sponsored by the County Government of Mombasa.
Eric Omondi was originally known as one of Africa’s most successful stand-up comedians, gaining fame on the Churchill Show. In recent years, he has shifted his focus toward social activism.
He often uses his large social media following to highlight the struggles of ordinary Kenyans. He has previously raised millions of shillings through crowdsourcing to pay for medical bills and school fees for families in distress.
