The ceremony was also attended by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo, among other leaders.

Speaking during the event, President Ruto highlighted the university’s ambition and dedication to delivering quality education.

He noted that the greatness of an institution is measured by the scope of its ambition and the tangible impact it achieves.

“I am deeply impressed by the ambition of Uzima University. It proves that the greatness of an institution is measured not by its age or size, but by scale of ambition, not by what it promises but by what it delivers,” he said.

The President acknowledged that while Uzima University may be young, its contributions to education and society are significant.

He praised the university for maintaining high standards and for its commitment to nurturing graduates who can make meaningful contributions in their fields.

“It may be young, but its impact is phenomenal,” he added, emphasising the role of innovation, vision, and leadership in shaping successful institutions.

During his address, President Ruto also paid tribute to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, noting the pride Odinga would have taken in witnessing Uzima University attain full charter status.

“I know there would have been one person who would have taken great pride in attending this graduation ceremony when this university is now fully chartered—that is my brother Hon. Raila Odinga,” Ruto said, acknowledging Odinga’s longstanding support for educational development in the region.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of the university’s latest cohort of graduates, recognising their hard work and dedication.
