Celebrated Deutsche Welle journalist Edith Kimani has marked another year around the sun, and her birthday celebration quickly became a talking point online.
The respected media personality took to Instagram to share a series of elegant photos, showing off a glamorous look as she celebrated the special day. Keeping things minimal, Edith captioned the post simply: “Happy birthday to me. #37”

For years, Edith has been romantically linked to fellow journalist Larry Madowo, with whom she shares a long professional history.
The two began their careers around the same time and have often been spotted enjoying meals together or sharing light-hearted moments online, fuelling speculation about their relationship.
Despite the rumours, neither has ever publicly confirmed whether they are a couple.
Following Edith’s birthday post, Larry was among the first to comment, writing a message that raised eyebrows:

Edith responded just as playfully, replying:

The exchange ended there, but the intrigue didn’t. Edith later revealed on her Instagram Stories that Larry had FaceTimed her to wish her a happy birthday while she was in Cape Town, South Africa.
She cheekily captioned the moment “Long distance betrayal,” further stirring speculation about the nature of their bond.
